Did He ask that? For us to help Him carry His cross? He commanded, **come, take up the cross, and FOLLOW me.** (Mark 10:21) Yes, as a matter of fact he did ask us to help him carry the cross.
It is right there in the scripture - TAKE UP THE CROSS AND FOLLOW ME - means to follow his example and carry the cross, whatever cross we are asked to bear.
The death of a loved one? Humiliation? An incurable illness?
We are asked to help him just like Simon of Cyrene.
What is so difficult to understand about that?
He asks us to share in his suffering and in his work. We are to be his hands on earth. We are asked to suffer for him and for others.
What is so difficult to understand about that?
This is what Jesus needs today - help with his cross - not people arguing about it.

Any other ‘Caucus’ that held to the policies advocated by the USCCB and the Vatican would be disallowed, and most of its members would get the zot.

Catholics don’t get it Christ made full reparation for us our sin is gone as far as the east is from the west I do not understand why Catholics keep insisting we have something to add to Christs perfect finished work. It is all about Christ and everyone else needs to get over themselves

Lol...”toto”. Are you, too, off to see the Wizardess, the wonderful Wizardess of Siena? (I know, it doesn’t work...but neither does your misuse of my “in toto”).

Stop the fire starting in non-Caucus threads then. Last time I checked Jim didn’t seem to be into leftist types that whine/complain/scream others into submission through Community ORGANIZING.

This thread was a barn burner from the get-go and the poster knew it, and keeps posting such pieces while complaining to the poor mods and owner about “bashing”. Why not simply post Pope’s blog under Caucus and have simpatico around his musings?

So Catholics who wish to talk about Catholic topics must now refrain from posting articles they find interesting?
You can do better than that.

Why should we have to place everything under the Catholic Caucus?
That title was intended to keep the Protestants who have a thing against anything Catholic from ruining some nice discussions.
Get real.
