Seems a reasonable response to hysteria, this headline

It occurred to me that we Catholics respond to God’s promises with prayer. One way to look at the Mass and the prayer of consecration is that we pray, in confidence, for God to do as he said he would.

So with the charism and apostolic call and function of the Church. We don’t sit on our hands and wait for the synod fathers and the Pope to be all magisterial ‘n stuff. We pray, trusting in God’s promise.

So, if we’re worried about the synod ... or if we’re not, our job is to fast, give alms, and pray.

I think it is good news in itself that Mary is Queen of Heaven, of all that is. But HOW that good news comes to pass is based on God’s being Sovereign, King and Emperor. So confidence is a divinely commanded and enabled duty for us.

Again and again Pope St. John Paul II advised and exhorted us not to be afraid. Of course we are emotionally upset, but we don’t have to listen to those fears or to take counsel from them. He has overcome the world.
