No different from other Popes speaking ex cathedra. This is why we have a Catholic Church in the confidence that the gates of hell shall never prevail against it. The Catholic Church is not a Protestant mishmash.

Of course not. It's a Catholic mishmash. We have our own mishmashes. :-)

I'll bet you can't name five instances where that has been exercised.

If anyone follows the church of Rome, it’s in direct violation of God’s word.

I don’t get how people who read the Bible for themselves don’t realize this.

Nope It’s a heretical dictatorship based in part on the belief that a very fallible human can speak as the “vicar of Christ” Enjoy the fruits of that one cause here they come....

Actually, this is a lot different. Popes have never spoken against the Magisterium before. Francis is doing his own church, he’s going to get rid of the CDF, and then it’s going to break up into a multiplicity of national “churches” that will do their own doctrinal considerations and at all times be subject to the state. Read his speech and you will see that for him it is all about making everything the perfect United Nations world.

But in the synod, is he speaking from the Chair of Peter?

Why do Catholics take these words of Jesus to mean the “gates of hell” are some kind of offensive weapon of Satan’s? Gates keep stuff in or keep stuff out - nothing more. Gates don’t pick themselves up and attack something. It’s pretty obvious Jesus was stating that the gates of hell cannot prevent the GOSPEL from reaching those hearts diligently seeking to know it - that the growth of the body of Christ cannot be stopped by the barriers thrown up by the enemy of our souls.

Jesus was definitely NOT implying the Roman Catholic church would be immune from the fiery darts of the wicked one. History has shown us that the Roman Catholic church has indeed fallen prey to errors, depraved leaders and heresy. This latest Pope and the hysteria he is causing among faithful RCs is far from the first time it has happened.
