I think you're wrong; Francis has been pushing this agenda since the beginning of his pontificate. He stacked the deck for this SinNod ,which has nothing to do with the traditional family but everything to do with adulterous or homosexual "unions".

Which raises an interesting question: how did this guy come from nowhere to get elected Pope? What deal was cut and with whom? It seems possible, based on the issues he's pushed this far, that he promised the gay mafia within the Vatican he would get recognition of homosexuality during papacy and thus he secured their votes. Nobody will ever know, of course, what happened behind those closed doors but he sure seems to be making a big deal out of pro-gay stuff and the gays in the church sure seem emboldened. Coincidence that these both happen at once?
