I knew he was sick and getting worse. My dad is the type that do not go to doctors ever. But now he wanted to go.I went with him to a lung doctor the other day that gave him the bad news. He is so strong and relaxed about it though. He has stopped smoking this summer which is extremely good. But still he is stage 3 -borderline to 4.
Maybe I ask for prayers do deal with my dad being sick. I tend to worry and fuss a bit and become very protective. My dad seems to cope very good. It is just me that is extremely worried.
Sending prayers!

God bless you, marthemaria, and all whom you hold dear. May He give peace, patience, wisdom and insight to you all, in the proper measure, at the right time.
All I can add is that my step father has had a COPD diagnosis for almost 10 years and with breathing treatements, he’s still going.
It’s not a death sentence!
Sadly it was for my dad.
Prayers for you and your Dad.
Mine as well, but he had other serious medical issues.
May I ask your Dad’s first name? Nightly prayer on the way.

I agree with what everyone else has said. Try to make his life as pleasant and useful as possible.
I had a neighbor, about as nice a guy as you will ever see. He did me many favors and I never got to pay him back. He made it to his 90s.
One day I got a $12,000.00 government check mistakenly sent to my house. I went over and gave him the check. While there he wanted to show me his newly remodeled bathroom but was too sick to get up so I just went in and looked at it.
When I went back to him he said he was having trouble breathing. I suggested he phone one of his children. Three days later his Son called me and said he had died two days after they took him to a hospital in Tallahassee.
However long we all have left we should try to enjoy it. The Bible says to eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.
So sorry for your situation. My husband has COPD. Don’t know what stage. He still smokes. Thank God your dad has stopped
Prayers.
Prayers up.
Prayerful bump.
