That is the way I see it, also.
If I may say, the good that may come out of all this toying with words, and fiddling with practices, all which actually enforce Dogma and Doctrine, just as a cornerstone enforces a structure, is that the Traditional Latin Mass will flourish, I believe.
The Church has paid a price for its wholesale rejection of the TLM, following V2, and the proof is EVERYWHERE, and yet the TLM was never abrogated. This selfish interpretation of V2, was simply total rebellion by the Western Church hierarchy, and the many laity, who were quite pleased by the greatly reduced prayers and movements of the Holy Mass, which nicely minimized the total time of the Mass, as if the whole affair of it were a burden.
The FSSP are dedicated to the TLM. The Novus Ordo will likely become a coin toss for the traveler, unaware of the protestant version, or the diluted ordinary form. Yikes!
