Yes, I’ve never understood that laxity about abortion. It’s like saying, “I’m opposed to killing Jews, but I wouldn’t want to impose my values on others.” The wanton, willing, and premeditated murder of an innocent life is murder.
The explanation for why Wuerl, Dolan, O’Malley, Cupich, DiNardo, Chaput, Gomez, McElroy, and almost all other bishops give Communion to abortionists is extremely simple:
1) some of them are pro-abortion;
2) cowardice;
3) government money;
4) threats.
Sen. Patrick Leahy threatened a bishop to his face that if he (Leahy) and other abortionists were denied Communion, then he would drag bishop after bishop before the Senate for YEARS of questioning about their handling of sexual abusers.
