There is no way any apostle could have weighed in on it but John, who made it plain in The Revelation that Lucifer has not fallen, and will be defeated in a heavenly battle and cast down to Earth just before the beginning of the Tribulation.
That is what makes his tribulation of the saints possible.
The Apostle John wrote that the dragon was cast out of heaven, and his angels cast out with him subsequent to the glorious Ascension of the Messiah.
