He’s going to need it someday
The Pope is using his popularity to advance a very Left wing agenda on U.S. as we as the rest of the world, not to mention the Catholic Church.
As a Catholic, I find it absolutely appalling and outrageous.
Leftism is never ideological, according to the Left.

This country seems to be his primary target for that left-wing agenda. It certainly was for his comrade in the struggle, Che Guevara.
Pope Che has much in common with Guevara.
