Reading two recent breathless headlines in the Forward, it would seem that Judaism, at least as practiced in America, is somehow in mortal danger of being co-opted and radically changed by Orthodox Jewry.

A thousand years before J*sus, HaShem manifested Himself and spoke to two to three million people. He got out two sentences before the people, screaming that they were going to die, got Moses to convey the rest of His words to them. One doesn't experience that and then accept that the commandments there given are now abrogated just because someone a thousand years later rises from the dead or does anything else.
The very idea that chrstianity has the authority to interpret the Hebrew Bible and declare it preparatory and temporary is an assumption and no different from a mormon claim to interpret the "new testament." Unfortunately for chrstianity, HaShem came first and any claim to a "new revelation" has to meet the criteria of the Torah. A religion that comes along and declares itself a "fulfillment" of the Torah on its own authority is just a hoax and a fraud.
BTW Jack: have you noticed that if a Protestant were to horn in on a Catholic thread with a similar comment on Protestantism vis a vis Catholicism the Catholics on this forum would be screaming "bigotry" and calling for him to be permanently banned? I can think of no greater hypocrisy, can you?
I come here to read comments to a very important article on secular "Jewish" arrogance vis a vis Torah True Jews and some Notzri hijacks the thread out of nowhere. Maybe a Protestant should hijack one of his threads one day.
Don't be concerned about writing the word "God" because you've misunderstood that it is "God's name". I'm far from a religious scholar but I do know that God's name isn't "God" ... it's Jehovah or Yahweh.

What will Christians do if he comes back and
1) says his name isn’t Jesus, but instead a Hebrew/Jewish name,
2) studies the Torah,
3) teaches Torah as a rabbi,
4) attends only a synagogue,
5) celebrates the Jewish holidays,
6) says that the Torah is the only word of God,
7) won’t convert to Christianity or Islam,
8) speaks only Hebrew,
9) eats only kosher food,
10) and other Jewish practices?
How do you think Christians and Muzzies will react?

I have no resentment of Christians on this Jewish thread even thought it is not a caucaused thread. Remember that the person who started the anti-Jewish talk was vladimir998 who said...

If you Christians resent Jews then you need to take your anti-Semitism elsewhere.
That ring you're hearing may be the zot cannon warming up... notzri is a very not nice appellation. Not fit for the religion forum... or free republic in general for that matter.
But what you are leaving out in your analysis of Christianity, is the Pharisee Saul. On his way to Damascus to persecute Christians, a light shone about him from heaven, none other than Messiah Jesus himself spoke to him from heaven and called him to be a Christian apostle.
This is the same Messiah Jesus in your analysis, yet here he is personally converting the Pharisee Saul in Acts 9, the same man who became instrumental in the issue of whether Christians are to be bound under the Sinaitic law or not. His epistles testify to that issue on every page.
Paul and his writings, called by the same Messiah Jesus in your analysis, is what is sorely missing in your Judaizing analysis. Paul wrote against the things you mentioned that you think Christians are supposed to be keeping. They must speak Hebrew, the English “Jesus” is forbidden “Yahshua” must be spoken. The essentiality of celebrating Jewish holidays, eating only Kosher food, and such like.
J.C. is not part of MY religion, which predated YOURS. I have no reason to ponder why he matters, doesn't matter, etc. He is not an element in my beliefs, nor should he be. Neither is allah, buddha, or any of the other deities that have meanings to their devotees. If you like to follow the precepts of J.C. and you don't interfere with the peaceful religious practices of others, fine. If you think you can dictate to me or others what we should believe, I laugh in your face. I would suggest some serious professional counseling, if you actually believe that your religious beliefs are the only game in town and that everyone should drop theirs and follow yours. Then yours is not a religion, it's a cult.
Orthodox Jews do not write out any manifestation of G-d’s name, for if the medium upon which the Name is written would be torn, erased, or otherwise destroyed, it would be like desecrating the Name. And there are many names to designate G-d; each one has a different connotation, emphasizing different aspects of G-d and that is why there are several names, not just G-d. Perhaps in the gentile version of the bible they insist that the Name is Jehovah or Yahweh, but those are only a couple of the names used to refer to G-d. Your statement that “ I do know that G*d’s name isn’t “G*d” ... it’s Jehovah or Yahweh..” simply reflects your not knowing that.
Since the folks at the Forward slavishly ape non-religious non-Jews and commie Roman Catholicism as they contemplate their non-Jewish spouses and Christian grandchildren, I’d say their theme here is a wash.
Converting him to what? Christianity? It didn’t even exist back then.
