It’s obvious to me that this is a generic form letter from a staff member in response to a gift of many books.

The way the letter is written, there is nothing inappropriate in it no matter who it is addressed to.

“His holiness is grateful for the thoughtful gesture and for the feelings which it evoked, hoping for an always more fruitful activity in the service of young generations and the spread of genuine human and Christian values,”

It simply thanks them for the thoughtful gesture and feelings evoked. So what.

And it expresses a hope that in the future, they will do a better job serving humanity and christianity.

You can say that to a satanist or atheist and have it be a good and encouraging thing.

There is nothing in the quote revealed that shows it was tailored at all to the particular person.
In fact it screams generic form letter from a staff member...

Really? Then there should be no objection if the same letter is addressed to a Nazi group or NAMBLA in response to a "gift of many books", right?

Why did it say “in the service of young generations”? Are they telling that lesbian to write more kids’ propaganda/books?
