I did and everyone who is commenting should also. I don’t know about the validity of the article, but if it is true, this guy, Zachary, was sucked into a dangerous cult from a young, impressionable age. He was probably an “at risk” kid who was recruited by experts.
I haven’t studied cults too much, but from what I know about them, it is diabolical mind control. I have seen interviews with cult members and they are robot like. Yearning for Zion is a modern day cult that comes to mind. The women who gave an interview on a special I watched about them were like vacant, placid dolls.
He didn’t mention it, but there probably were mind altering drugs involved like with the hippy cults of the 60’s and 70’s. I once heard that trying to extricate a family member from one of those cults was like ripping their mind in half. The person has to turn away willingly. The cult mind clamp was broken for this man eventually and in that he was lucky. I wouldn’t want to be him, though. He’ll spend the rest of his life repenting as he rightfully should.
