Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A skeptic reading this account might say,"Elisha was just using CPR!" to revive the boy. Well, perhaps it looked like it, except that the boy had been dead long enough to starve his brain of oxygen. We see that his restoration was complete. This was a true miracle. And, even though Elisha was a prophet, he was not omniscient. God hid the fact of the boy's death from him, so that the woman had to speak up.

The woman's boldness in her approach to Elisha is remarkable. First, she did not send a servant, or even her husband to the prophet. She went herself. Second, she did not reveal anything to Elisha's intermediary. She went straight to the prophet. And thirdly, she was not afraid to honestly express her true feelings to Elisha. She transparently allowed her grief, disappointment, and feelings of betrayal to be a part of her petition.

Underneath all that anger was a huge reservoir of faith. Otherwise, why would she have even gone to Elisha in the first place?

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
