It won’t be critical to those with open minds, Bereans will be reexamining doctrines like pretrib. It will become very critical to those with closed minds. I gave a major reason for it, see my posts on this thread.

This is not about spitting contests and bragging rights, it is about getting a people ready to play the role God is calling them for, the role they are to play in the end time. The central role. Pretribs are not being prepared for it. Why should they? they don’t believe they will even be around by that time.

Paul says ICorinthians 15:51. Behold I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: (there are seven trumps). for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

So long as we are in flesh bodies Our Lord and Savior has not returned.

Here’s a quote from the answersinrevelation.org site:

“What if pretribulationists are wrong?

If pretribulationists turn out to be wrong, the consequences will be devastating as millions of Christians who expected a pretribulation rapture find themselves in the midst of the end time drama, facing the Antichrist!

Indeed, the evidence against the pretribulation view is staggering if people would simply allow themselves to be exposed to it. Yet, most refuse to even take a peek, and are constantly assured by their pastors and self-appointed TV prophecy experts that all is well. What are the shepherds going to say to the sheep if they have failed to prepare them for the roaring lion’s brutal attack?”

Despite my pretrib stance underneath it all I’m a pan tribber. Trust in Jesus and it will all pan out in the end. ;-)

I am a staunch pre tribber. However if I am wrong and do find myself in the trubilation the only preparation I need is to be washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ and standing firm in His protection. That is already taken care of, no other prep to do. So don’t worry about us pre-tribbers, we will be fine no matter what.

2Thessalonians 2 is referring to Satan, whose presence in the throne room of God is what restrains Daniel’s 70th week events.

Soon he will be cast down to Earth, where he will attempt to tribulate the saints. Those that have been observant of the appointed times will slip away to the place in the desert, where they will be protected until the last trump.

Those that have been caught unawares will face the choice of taking the mark, or death.

Does every element of scripture constitute “catholic bashing?”

You will be better off not being the “staunch” pretribber (with a closed mind) you mentioned, you’d be better off being the pantribber you said you was in your previous post to avenir. As such, perhaps you would be more likely to have an open mind about these things.

By the way, which are you? You said you are a “staunch” pretribber in one post, then in the very next post you are a pantribber. Scratching my head, here.

2 Thess 2:1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be [The Day Of The Lord, The Great and Terrible Day of The Lord], unless the departure comes first [Rapture], and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction

2 Thess 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one will be revealed

Try posting without being obnoxious to the ones you post to. Many are willing to discuss the issues, but there is no comity if you try to brow beat folks. Eh?

>> “ It does insist that believers aren’t appointed to suffer God’s end times wrath.” <<

.
The tribulation is not God’s wrath!!!!!

It is Satan’s wrath.

God’s wrath comes from the bowl judgements, which are the ten days following the resurrection that ends the trib.

And my advise to you would be: if you are going to be starting all these threads, and having post-tribs come on them and disagree with you, you are going to have to learn to not be so thin-skinned.

Somebody changed the Scripture. IIThess 2:3 Let no man *deceive* (first tribulation) you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a *falling away* (not departure) first, and that man of sin (the devil) be revealed, the son of perdition.

>> “Also Paul in Thessolonians said, comfort one another with these words. How could going through the tribulation be a comfort?” <<

Straw!

Paul was not saying that the trib would be comforting. Paul had already told them that because they kept his appointed times, they need not fear Yeshua coming as a thief to them.

1Thessalonians 5

[1] But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
[2] For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
[3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
[4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
[5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
[6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

The Thessalonians, being fully Torah compliant, would be taken to the place in the desert during the trib. Only those that were not so aware would be caught unprepared.

Sorry, the version I posted is the World English Bible, which was a translation from the oldest manuscripts we have. Also, I posted an earlier explanation of the translation of ‘apostasia’. It was translated ‘departure’ or ‘departing’ inn most of the earliest Bibles, until the Rheims Bible translated it as ‘revolt’ during the reformation process when the different sides were disputing.

>> “Somebody changed the Scripture” <<

No harm done!

Falling away, and departure/retreat are all the same WRT this issue.

He spoke of the abandonment of Torah.

That would be the great enabler, allowing people to accept immoral life styles as normal (Like right now?).

If you will read carefully, you will notice that I have not objected to different points of view. Again, try not to be obnoxious when posting. It might get you more interesting responses.

Interesting opinion, but not aligned with the actual texts. The first two verses give a completely different perspective, since Paul addresses the gathering to Himself. The ‘himself’ can only be Christ.

It is not saying rapture. It is like that parable of the 10 virgins - half were sent to *buy’ oil because they did not have any.

You’re not making any sense on this one.

What two verses are you talking about?
