He is the worse kind of socialist. He has no understanding that the production of real wealth through capitalism correlates best with the establishment of social justice and the alleviation of miserable poverty. His socialism has been a catastrophe wherever practiced except in inherently wealth enclaves like oil rich. Norway. His redistribution schemes neither eliminate poverty or produce wealth. They create more bitter resentments and frustrations. The Pope seems oblivious that China and Russia had very good reasons to ditch socialism. Catholics now recognize that this man has some very serious intellectual deficits. The fear is that his bizarre ideation will cross into theological doctrine and cause even more confusion and alienation.

“Those services which society offers to its citizens are not a type of alms, but rather a genuine ‘social debt’ with respect to the institution of the family, which is foundational and which contributes to the common good.”

And there in lies the question...what the heck does that statement mean? It is indiscernible even in context?

he said that while concern for the poor is a mark of the Gospel and Church tradition, rather than an invention of communism.

So he's claiming that the Gospel precedes communism ?

Clearly the Pope has a seething rage and contempt for free market capitalism, private property rights, an individual liberty. He blasts these concepts every chance he gets, but NEVER has a negative thing to say about Socialism, the type of which has bankrupted Greece, or Communism which has imprisoned Cuba for decades. And he has fully signed on to the religion of the Left-—Globull Warming.

All of this proves the Vatican is quite capable of making terrible mistakes...just like the American voters.

Not really, says Gregory Weeks, a Latin America specialist at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

I have encountered a few "Latin American Specialists" in the history departments of major universities. Invariably their politics mirror Che Guevara's. The Pope is likely to the right of this guy.

The Pope was steeped in the Marxist based “liberation theology” so popular in Latin America and the Catholic Church has been wary of capitalism for centuries. There were Catholic theologians two hundred years ago who thought the individual liberty created for the first time in the United States was contrary to Church teachings.

The pope isn’t a socialist, he’s an adherent of liberation theology ...

Which is Marxism in Catholic Church sheepskin...

It’s no wonder as capitalism took away the power and control the Catholic church had over Western civilization. In a way Protestantism IS capitalism in the fight for souls department.

Pope is a Jesuit.
Jesuits are socialists.
Pope is a Socialist.

Learned that logic at Jesuit university
