A Christian is a believer in Christ

Not according to some FR evangelical types, Catholics are not Christians. Seen that statement quite a few times. Do not follow or read religion threads, but I most certainly have read that in passing.

May not be bashing, but it certainly contributes to the rancor, same as claiming that to be a true conservative you must be evangelical.

I believe those references are pointing to where the Catholic salvation requirements exceed what God Himself has revealed in scripture. If there be additional requirements added to what the Bible says, are they not preaching ‘another Gospel’? Gal 1:8

That is certainly not the case for my Protestant church. My minister has stated more than a few times that there will be Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, Church of Christ, etc. There will be Christians in Heaven.

I’ve seen posts both ways. Some Catholics have stated that only Catholics will get to Heaven and I’ve seen some Protestants post that only their denomination will get to Heaven.

Neither side is pure in this debate.
