Actually, on this one, I agree with the Pope. It could be the last Sunday in March or April. I don’t see any huge downside.
Yep, we’re celebrating the Resurrection, not a certain moon phase after the equinox. We have no problem at all celebrating Christmas on one day in December even though even the month is probably wrong.
It should always be at the same time of Passover. The date isn’t as important (or it would be in the Holy Scripture)as the events connected to Resurrection Day.

I see a huge downside. Jesus was a Jew. The whole Crucifixion and Resurrection are closely interwoven with the Passover holiday.
We need to understand the roots of Christianity and understand Judaism. The whole idea of confounding Easter with the vernal equinox just reeks of paganism. It comes after Passover.

The date of Easter (Pascha to us Orthodox) was set by an ecumenical council. It would take another council to change that.
