Oh that revival would arise from the hearts of the next generation.
I would go farther to say that the bible tells us that God will take out of the world the restrainer the Holy Spirit.
God didn’t say he would remove the Holy Spirit from his people , but from the world.
Noticed people are even getting more less cival even on the roads driving, people total disregard of even common sense traffic laws ?
And it’s not just in the hip-hop black culture, I have seen this among white people also.
However the LORD is coming back and will tally up all the old score cards and there will be a great reckoning.
Where and on what date did this occur -— hard to tell from any of the sources I’ve seen.
I want to know what YOU were suggesting.
Pet dogs have a gospel role.
I would expect to see more than an increase in garden variety rudeness from such a cataclysmic event.
[[People have always been like that though. Selfish, hateful, etc. Sin has almost always been part of this world.]]
There has usually been a majority though who have not- now however, the tide seems to be swinging the other way- more and more people are compromising their values, and even forsaking God- Sodom and Gomorrah didn’t start out almost 200% sinful- but they sure ended that way over time, and God deal severely with them-
We are seeing a massive swing in the direction of sin and evil, because, as the saying goes ‘Evil thrives only when good men do nothing’ (or something like that)- and because the right has pretty much shut their mouths and won’t speak out against the shameful acts the left are doing- the left have become emboldened and are now so bold that they stand in public and blatt blatant LIES and don’t care one iota if someone calls them on it because they KNOW NOONE will get serious about stopping them- They know that as soon as they start screaming, those on the right will tuck tail and whimper away
There is nothing to stop evil from progressing any longer- We, the US, who once stood for good, righteousness, and justice- no longer do so because our military has been so neutered and watered down and hamstrung that we can no logner EFFECTIVELY combat evil- God has almost been entirely thrown out of the military- and certainly Jesus has-
The US USED TO BE the nation that other nations looked up to for moral guidance- No longer! and with no moral guidance, how can we expect the world to try to maintain a moral line? Nations all over the world are turning from Christ in pursuit of false gods-
I believe the man of lawlessness IS beign let loose- or soon will be
[[The majority in this country are against the evils. So whatever.]]
Psssst- the majority in this country voted not once, but twice for evil because they thought they would get all kinds of ‘freebies’-
No, we aren’t.
We are seeing good men being complacent, and allowing the minority to control the narrative. That’s all.
There is definitely a difference ... After Peter proclaimed that “This is that which the Prophet Joel said would happen in the last days...” Paul said “The Spirit speaks expressly that in the last days Perilous times should come....” In PETer/Joel’s case, “The last days “ refers to the Dawn of the Messianic Age... Whereas in Paul’s usage in 2 Timothy, the last days refers to the last days before the PArousia.
Paul warned Timothy of what to be on the lookout for “in the last days,” and gave him instructions. Do you reckon Timothy heeded the warning and followed those instructions?
Are you seriious? You actually think Paul was only talking to Timothy and not to all believers of all times?
What? Are you suggesting that “the last days” come all the time??
Here we have a man (Timothy) who was warned by an apostle about the signs of the last days and instructed to turn away from certain people who would appear in those last days, and you think this comes upon “all believers of all times”??
Is it possible you’re more interested in your own ideas than in God’s? My friend, you need to start studying the Bible to learn what the Lord wants you to know, and stop foraging through it looking for support for your own ideas.
Yes - It is always the last days, since we all die.
Grievous times will always come but they intensify as we approach the last days before Jesus comes back. Do you believe Jesus is coming back? If so you have to believe that there are “Last days” .Just because you don’t understand, it doesn’t make it utter silliness. You don’t have to be so scornful...
What does any of that have to do with the Scripture under discussion? I’m only interested in what the Holy Spirit told us through Paul.
Are you? Or are the words of Christ’s apostle nothing more to you than something to prop up your sermon?
Paul gave Timothy instructions for “the last days”. Not for the end of his life (pffft!). Not for grievous times that come throughout history. Not for the day of final judgment. You don’t get to define “the last days” of II Timothy 3.
Friend, you need to stop twisting the Scriptures to fit your sermons. Repent of that sin, ditch these false doctrines and false prophecies, and start reading the Scriptures to see what God has told us, lest you end up in the ditch and lead other souls to destruction too.
Thanks Lears Fool You haven’t honestly dealt with anything I have said, but I can see other than scorn and reproach, so lets call this an “Agree to disagree” situation.
