The coming of June can remind us that
this month is popular for weddings
And Jesus’s first miracle was at a wedding
as He turned water into wine.

What Jesus did here
in Cana of Galilee
was the first of the signs
through which He revealed His glory;
and His disciples believed in Him.

Heavenly Father –

May we rejoice in Your love toward us and the gifts You’ve given us. Most of all, we are grateful for the gift of Your Holy Spirit – to teach us, guide us, comfort us, as well as be closer to us than our own skin.

Fill us, Lord, with Your Spirit, the new wine. Empower us to do Your will. Equip us to fight the Evil One on all fronts.

Protect our military and troops from harm. Give a special grace to all those who suffer and are persecuted for Your Name’s sake.

May we return to the faith of founders so that our nation may glorify Your Name. May America become a blessing in this world and the world to come.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
