Context...
Hagar and Sarah
Galatians 4:24 (NASB)
23 But the son by the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.
24 This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.
25 Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.

“24 This is allegorically speaking...”
That proves my point. That’s also the EXACT verse I cited.

Uh...yes.
Why do you see it as a negative to post the actual words of Scripture from the Bible instead of just the reference?
Odd attitude, vlad.

“Why do you see it as a negative to post the actual words of Scripture from the Bible instead of just the reference?”
Where did I EVER say I see it as a “negative to post the actual words of Scripture from the Bible instead of just the reference?”
Why would you make up something like that?
“Odd attitude, vlad.”
What attitude?

Yup; that Auggie was so stupid...
No, he wasnt the one who was stupid and neither am I. Keep guessing. Maybe youll get it.
So, are you agreeing with Augustine's words Elsie referenced which are contrary to your current catechism?
Or are you arguing against yourself for the sake of argument?

Pigeons have a more direct way to soil their environment. They, at least, do not twist scripture or spread heresy.

They don't ever play chess, however.

“So, are you agreeing with Augustine’s words Elsie referenced which are contrary to your current catechism?”
That shows the problem with anti-Catholics. Why would Augustine’s OTHER interpretations - when at least 3 or 4 are possible - mean any exclusivity to any one interpretation over another on Augustine’s part? This shows no problem with Augustine - just anti-Catholics. We once again see that anti-Catholics do not know or understand what they are attacking. Do you even know what the Catholic Church has taught about the interpretation of Matthew 16? Apparently not if your posts are anything to go by.
Most likely an anti-Catholic will respond in one of two ways to what I posted above:
1) The anti-Catholic will not understand anything I just said so he will lash out with false charges of obfuscation to cover his own confusion at being caught up short.
2) The anti-Catholic will post official statements from authoritative Catholic sources that present only one interpretation in an attempt to answer my question (and which will show the anti-Catholic do not actually understand what I am asking) or in a failed attempt to make me look bad as if I don’t know EXACTLY what the Church teaches about Matthew 16.
In either case, we will probably see that anti-Catholics do not know anymore about how the Church views interpretation of Matthew 16 than the anti-Catholics know about the protection of the Holy Spirit in papal infallibility.

Not anti-Catholics, vlad.
You are mistaken again, vlad, and posting vengefully this morning.

S-U-R-E.
“You are mistaken again, vlad, and posting vengefully this morning.”
No, I’m just posting the truth. You can’t refute it.
To: NYer
Citing Scripture is now considered "protestant bashing"? Please, stop with the playing stupid. It starts in the second paragraph:
"With the advent of Protestantism and the confusion that followed, and that continues to this day, Christians, outside of the Catholic Church, have, at best, an incomplete understanding of the power of these words."

S-U-R-E. Im just posting the truth. You cant refute it.
The truth is what we contend for on these forums. You and I are approaching what is true from different directions. I'm approaching through the Way of Lord Jesus Christ, the living Word of God, alone. You are approaching the truth with proscribed RCC blinders.

“You and I are approaching what is true from different directions.”
I am already at the truth. The fact that you say you are approaching it means you don’t have it. John 17:17 - we are sanctified in the truth, we do not “approach” it from different directions.
“I’m approaching through the Way of Lord Jesus Christ, the living Word of God, alone.”
That clearly is not the case. We are sanctified in the truth; we do not “approach” it.
“You are approaching the truth with proscribed RCC blinders.”
No blinders at all. This is why I actually know the teachings and you keep showing that you apparently do not yet you attack them. It must be you who has the blinders on.
To: ealgeone; NYer
Catholic teachers not only doubt a biblical young earth chronology based on supernatural creation, they heavily rely on the "theories" of secular psychology, a demonic, false religion founded by atheists and virulent haters of God.
That's all I need to know.

Yes, these are the choices you, I, and everyone here must make or have made, for better or worse.
And you are correct in saying I believe many of the RCC "teachings" are false and should be opposed when and where in error.
Am not anti-Catholics, though, in spite of your unbelief in my answers. Many RCs are kept enslaved inside this particular man-made religion, and other similar "Protestant" religions because of the continuing efforts of workers such as you and others on these threads.
I hope that many more people will choose to come out of the RCC darkness and into the Light of the Truth: Lord Jesus Christ is our ONLY savior from sin and eternal separation from God. No "church" can save anyone from paying his/her sin-debts.

"Yes, these are the choices you, I, and everyone here must make or have made, for better or worse." We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. ― Benjamin Franklin "And you are correct in saying I believe many of the RCC "teachings" are false and should be opposed when and where in error." But that isn't what I said. The fact that you just invented something I didn't say and are now ascribing it to me is indicative of the real problem. Notice I don't make things up about what Protestants or Protestant anti-Catholics have said. Why do so many anti-Catholics literally make up things that no Catholic has said? Why do they seem to think that is morally acceptable? "Many RCs are kept enslaved inside this particular man-made religion, and other similar "Protestant" religions because of the continuing efforts of workers such as you and others on these threads." Isn't the person who - for whatever reason - has to make up things no one actually said the person who must really be enslaved? "I hope that many more people will choose to come out of the RCC darkness and into the Light of the Truth: Lord Jesus Christ..." And yet you make up something that no one said and ascribe it to another. I would say the hypocrisy is breath taking if it were not so commonly exhibited by anti-Catholics.
To: vladimir998
I would say you have the gift of confusion in your posting.
