We see a lot about the crossing of the Red Sea, with the staff of Aaron.

Less emphasized is the crossing of the Jordan to the Promised Land was affected by the Presence of God within the Ark of the Covenant. The minute the first bearer set his foot down, the waters began to part.

The New Covenant, our promise that Heaven would again be open to mankind by the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus, was effected by the Incarnation within the womb of Mary, the Ark of the New Covenant. The minute Our Lady gave her Fiat, the Word was made flesh, God became man.

Through that Fiat, we travel through the perils of this world, as the Israelites through the perils of the river, to our Promised Land of Heaven!

Think of it: for 9 months, the Sacred Heart of Jesus beat beneath the Immaculate Heart of Mary! 💕
