Inclusivity is a word the Roman Catholic Women Priests (RCWP) organization is built upon. The movement began in Germany in 2002 with seven women who were ordained on the Danube River by an Argentine Catholic bishop who cut his ties to Rome and began a church he believed would be more progressive.
Those women chose ex-communication by Rome, which, simply put, is like leaving a club you were never allowed to join.
So they started their own branch of the club and there are now 208 women priests worldwide, following Saturday's ordination.
"We are obedient to the Holy Spirit and disobedient to unjust laws," said Kathleen Gibbons Schuck, 59, a Summit native now living in Blue Bell, Pa.
But the differences between Rome-scripted ordination and the RCWP's ceremony were apparent. One was the gender-neutral liturgy. The word Lord was absent. God was not exclusively called Father, but Creator God, Creator Spirit and Life-Giving Mother, Gentle Father. Christ's disciples, a heavily male-oriented word, were described as friends. The prayer over the Eucharist is said by the whole church, meaning the congregation shares the power to bring the body and blood of Christ into their midst.

There once were some ladies whose mania
Was liturgical extemporanea.
They think they are priests---
One's a bishop at least ---
And I am the Queen of Romania.
For more hilarity, I invite you to have a look-see at this unconscious self-parody:
"Ordain a Lady" (YouTube Link)
I guarantee you'll enjoy it, or double your money back.

We ordain ladies in my denomination. We would do better if they were sisters, as in yours.

What I like is that the Catholic Church --- though struggling and reeling over it --- still upholds the truth that natural gender (by which I mean "male and female He created them") is both significant and consequential.
It's not just a matter of "different plumbing" (I really hate that phrase) and it's not a matter of socially-constructed convention, either. Nor are we to redefine it (as in "gay" "marriage" --- which I call a "mirage") nor to "re-assign" ourselves like gender-disoriented Mr. Potato Heads.
Our natural design a God-intended aspect of the Image and Likeness of God as part of His original intention and His original blessing.
And I am becoming more convinced that the complementarity and non-interchangeability between the sexes is as essential to understanding the priesthood as it is to understanding marriage.

Yeah. If they took an X-acto knife to cut out all the parts of the New Testament they don’t like, it would look like a doily.

Thats really weird. A woman whose cheating husband divorced her taught my RCIA class. Ive seen her take communion. Im not positive, but I think I heard her talking about taking communion to nursing homes, making her a Eucharistic minister. Strange indeed. One would think the priest who attended our classes would have rectified these situations, as she spoke freely about her divorce in class.Well lets just hope she never gets married again ... you have to buy your "Mercy " then

Now that is s good Limerick. I will ping you to a whole thread of Limericks about the Jihadis in Texas, a few of which I conjured up myself.

I suggest you read 1 Corinthians 5. Your protests are better aimed at God than us. They figure as long as they confess it and say their 3 hail Mary's and 3 Our Fathers, they are good till the next time they sin.. they do not understand the Justice of God

She WITHDREW her membership anticipating the church’s actions.
She did NOT repent. She tried to beat them to the punch so that they could not remove her name or that it would be meaningless action.
She didn’t WANT the help.
THAT’S why her name was removed.

The woman in the story had already left the church (by her request/demand), metmom. Why admonish someone who has left? Because they wanted to make a statement that they were serious about dealing with sin and they had the guts to do it.
It amazes me the number of Catholics who just don't get why the church took action.

That is my understanding as well ... if this lady wants to remarry ...she is out of communion with Rome.. She will have to buy mercy (a church divorce ) or become excommunicated.. Now she could move in with a man.. ...but thats another story :)
To: Gamecock
The odd thing is that these silly "Ordain a Lady" girls put their video out there to advance their movement! They don't even realize it's a self-parody!
But they quickly disabled the comments. I guess they were being pretty consistently mocked.

The woman in the story had already left the church (by her request/demand), metmom. Why admonish someone who has left? Is that what happened to you when you left the Catholic Church? Did the priest publicly admonish you for your decision, telling everyone in the pews? Why are you presuming that *I* was in adultery?

You can’t “buy” a church divorce. There is no such thing as a church divorce.
