“...the grave cloth of Christ, which is the Holy Shroud of Turin, will be on public display”

The Church does not share this opinion.

According to the Archbishop of Turin, “It is not a profession of faith because it is not an object of faith, nor of devotion, but it can help faith.”

This statement is misleading and dishonest at best.

Shame.

“Are you calling Jesus a “created thing”?”

No, but the shroud isn’t Jesus.

The body was wrapped.. BUT NOT THE FACE ...read your bible

Read your bible with reference to historical context.

"...Everything continues to be consistent with the biblical account of the crucifixion and known Jewish burial practices."

And so because you wrote “apparently believe” I’m supposed to believe that you really aren’t saying they do believe despite the fact that your post history includes believing Catholics are idol worshippers.

Yeah, right.

I really will never understand the non-Catholic issue with the Shroud of Turin. Except the fact that it is viewed as something Catholic.

Correct. We are not expected to believe it is truly His Shroud. I just find it hard to believe that any Catholic (or any self-proclaimed “Christian” for that matter) would not believe it was if one truly read the testing, evidence, etc. I really have a hard time believing same folks would go out of their way to deny it and attack those who do not.

And this:

https://www.shroud.com/guscin.htm

Peter saw two cloths in the tomb on Sunday morning: face cloth and linen cloth. The linen cloth (the Shroud) appears to have been placed over the face cloth.

Thank you for pointing out his comment in post 5:

"pilgrims will be able to bow down and idolize the holy linen cloth"

That was the post I was referring to when I made the "omniscient" argument.

Apparently means “it looks that way.”

That is different than claiming a truth.

It is unfortunately not limited to Catholics. Many bow down and idolize.

idolize
[ahyd-l-ahyz]
verb (used with object), idolized, idolizing.

1. to regard with blind adoration, devotion, etc.
2. to worship as a God

I stand by my correct use that does not claim the ability to know the mind or heart, but acknowledges the apparent behavior alone.
