France Stands Firm Over Nomination of Gay Vatican Envoy

France has said it will not back down over its nomination of an openly gay ambassador to the Vatican.

The French government proposed senior diplomat Laurent Stefanini for the post in January but the Vatican is yet to respond to approve the choice.

The Vatican usually responds within six weeks to approve such a new ambassador.

The nomination of Mr Stefanini was seen as a litmus test for Pope Francis, who has taken a more liberal stance on homosexuality.

A French government spokesman said there had been negotiations with the Vatican over the appointment.

"France has chosen its ambassador to the Vatican. This choice was Stefanini and that remains the French proposal," said spokesman Stephane Le Foll.

Well then, the Vatican should refuse to receive him.

Does openly gay mean he’s a practicing homosexual?

satan uses every means at his disposal to attack Christianity/Christians.

This is just one more way to bring about chaos. You either accept our gay-ness or we will take you to the international courts, U.N..

Well then, the Vatican should refuse to receive him.

According to earlier articles, Vatican has remained utterly silent to this individual; given him the cold shoulder. Supposedly, in the old-school diplomatic practices favored there, this utter non-response is a complete rejection. They won't say anything. They don't need to; their silence says everything.

I am glad the editor chose to put the words "Nomination of" in that headline...

yeah- taking the diplomatic “high road” will work!

The Vatican is in a fight against an evil Marxist
govt.-”France”

The U.S.- under O’bummer- DOWNGRADED-and MOVED
our Diplomatic post AWAY from the Vatican-

The high road will not work-..reject this ambassador—then
tell O’bummer - you want to cancel diplomatic relations-and
we will wait till the next U.S. president comes along- the same goes for these other countries that have sent - EVIL
men to be “ambassadors”- (see Bulgarian envoy rejected)

Sounds like France will have to go without an ambassador to the Holy See for a while.

“Does openly gay mean he’s a practicing homosexual?”

Does the Left even know there are people of the homosexual orientation who are non-practicing? I’m thinking France wouldn’t even put him forward if he wasn’t active. If you’re an abstinent/celibate gay, or have a story to tell about leaving the lifestyle, you’re the enemy to the Left, the same as a Bible thumper.
