Pope said, “Who am I to judge?”
Well, God commands us to judge, and the entire Bible is a user manual on how to judge. The reference, “Judge not, that ye be not judged”, was a specific admonition to the hypocritical Pharisees. People who call for tolerance and quote judge not out of context are incorrect.
Christians are commanded to judge. Jesus said, Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment (John 7:24).
Read Proverbs; all of it pertains to judging.
Does the Pope not think he’s a Christian? Of course he should judge — and loudly. Actually, it’s the main part of his job.

Actually, Matthew 7:1-5 is not addressed to the Pharisees, but to Jesus' disciples. Go back and read the introduction to the Sermon that started at 5:1-2 for context to see who He's talking to there. Also read 5:20. 7:1-5 is also using "judging" in a different sense than John 7:24, which is talking about judging the truth, whereas Matthew 7 is talking about passing sentence in the sense of sitting in God's seat. James 4:11-12 also forbids Christians from judging in the latter sense.
