What happened to those that questioned the validity of that?
Elsie, no one questioned that. We didn’t dare. Our priest was the instructor. I never heard different until after I was booted from the church.
Inquiring minds want to know...
Aunts, uncles, grandparents cousins, Joseph's extended family, Marys folks and whatever extended family cousins etc that she had....who knows, just not brothers nor sisters.
Basically, I was molested by a priest, along with another girl, at 14. The church did nothing. I was shunned, my life went to hell, then I was kicked out of catechism in front of my whole class, then later kicked out of the church. Years later it was discovered the priest molested a bunch of girls. He’s dead now.
Catholics compared to protestants usually have far more children and we know how to make them. Protestants agreed that artificial birth control was a no-no until they changed their minds at the beginning of the 20th century...then, as usual, they made up new rules and decided that birth control was O.K.....easy to do when you've left the true church.
Thanks for sharing.
Many things will be ‘discovered’ after the Last Trump...
I've heard that...

Yes they will. Thank you, Elsie.
No you weren't.
I sure was. Why do you say that?
No one in history, save for a handful of excommunications (and you weren't one of them) has EVER been kicked out of the Catholic church...PERIOD
Excuse me, but you have no idea the pain and humiliation I suffered as a young teen at the hands of arrogant, self-righteous clergy and church people. The whole ordeal nearly destroyed my life. Only by God’s grace am I still here today. Unfortunately your uncaring, mean-spirited attitude is all too common. I’m sorry, but I’m done with you. No more.
If you don't believe this, then you must believe that Jesus is absent any of Mary's DNA; that Jesus' humanity was achieved without Mary. You cite the pre-incarnate Jesus. We're discussing the incarnate Jesus; the God-Man Jesus. Do you believe Mary was merely a container and that her DNA is no part of Jesus? If you believe this, then you are in opposition to 2000 years of orthodox (small o) Christian teaching.
She is and always will be Jesus' mother. This alone should make Christians respect her and give her a place of great, great honor.
Roman Catholics have ascribed to Mary qualities that belong to God alone. Many Protestants marginalize Mary because to do otherwise would somehow reflect partial elements of the RC view, which is anathema to many Protestants.
Both views are wrong.
Mary was a 14 year old virgin when she had Jesus. She had many other children after she had Jesus. That doesn’t take anything away from her, as sex within marriage is not a sin. God told us to be fruitful and multiply.
So MANY people who died, saw heaven, were revived, saw Jesus, some saw God off in the distance, NONE saw Mary. Zero, zip, nada.
She should be admired as Peter, Paul, etc are admired.
but NONE of them should be praised or prayed to.
and the Pope is NOT sinless, otherwise he could never get sick or die. Plus look up the ten worst (most evil) popes in history.
Mary’s Virginity...
lasted for about the time frame outlined in Leviticus 12.
Protestants honor Mary for what Scripture tells us about her. To go beyond that raises the real possibility of promoting myths and legends and heresy. Mary had a valuable but limited role in God's plan of salvation.
We should focus our honor her Son. I am sure that Mary as God's true and humble servant doesn't want our honor but instead for the honor to be directed to Christ.
I would be happy to follow 2000 years of biblical information. You can follow tradition; I’ll take the book. You find all this veneration of Mary in the Book, and I’m in. You find my version of Mary (normal, sinner, and just one chosen for a task) and I’ll expect you to convert...Well?
Do you really think the disciple of John the Apostle wasn’t teaching the word of God??
Good grief.
