The UN, interestingly, has noted that more books are translated from their original languages into Spanish each year, than have been translated from other languages into Arabic, since the time of Mohammad.

There may be exceptions, but this is a cultural trait of Muslims historically and even now: incurious when not crazily belligerent against any other people, religion, philosophy, or way of life.
