Luke 1 and John 1 do NOT refer to Mary the mother of Jesus as “Mother of God”.
How do you separate Jesus from God? How can you say Jesus is the mother of Jesus without also saying she is the mother of God incarnate, the Word made flesh?
Luke 1 refers to Mary as the virgin who conceived in her womb and gave birth to a son who she is to call Jesus. Luke 1 further says that the holy thing born of her shall be called the Son of God.
How can you say Mary is not the mother of God incarnate without also denying the divinity of Jesus?

How does it affect you?
It affects ME as to whether I have to say, "Amen, Brother!" or say, "You know; the BIBLE indicates something quite different."

What I am is a member of the body of Christ watching members attack other members.True; some of this happens.
But what is REALLY 'attacked' is False assumptions and false teachings.
Some folks tend to take that as an 'attack' on them, personally, and reply in kind.

And yet millions of Protestant churches repeat the Lord’s Prayer every Sunday morning word for word.Yup; that is true! But... The hierarchy has not said this was definitive teaching that is required by all believers.

I am grateful to this day the priest taught the Bible as it is written without making up any tales in order to conform to an ideology or dogma.
