Why do you accept the 27 books of the NT, as provided by the Catholic Church, but reject the Catholic Church teaching on the Papacy. Do you have a list of you favorite Catholic teachings which you accept?

Exactly, I build my life on Christ not on Peter, nor a “church”, but rather a personal relationship with God only made possible through not what I have or will do, but what He has done and who He is!!

Obviously Jesus is the Rock, the Foundation.

I never had any problem with the idea that Jesus was saying the Church would be founded through Peter.

It doesn’t support claims of exclusive Roman Catholicity even if He was referring to Peter in that verse.

You forget Peter was forgiven by Christ.

Jesus wasn't one to hold back from saying ἐγὼ εἰμί when he meant to identify himself with the I AM of the LXX (see, e.g., Jn 8:58).

Very good summation of Who the Rock is, Yeshua Messiah.

Why do Catholics harp on the “truth” of their church, rather than the truth of Christ?

This is the truth of Christ. Christ gave Peter the Keys of the Kingdom, telling him to “Feed my sheep,” “Tend my sheep,” and “Feed my Lambs.”

Those are quotes from the Bible. Why don’t non-Catholic believe them?

“The Roman Catholic Cultists will be wailing and whining...”

*********
What you say about Catholicism says more about your faith than it does Catholicism.

Of Peter is the Rock referred of by the lord.

Sunday is a day of rest. Give it a rest.

Of course Peter is NOT the rock referred to by the Lord. Christ is the Rock upon which his church (not the Roman Catholic Cult) is founded... why, oh why would Christ found his church upon a created, fallen person? The faith Peter showed was given him by God.

"Give it a rest."

Not as long as the Roman Catholic Cult teaches the false gospel it teaches. The truth may be hard to hear for the Catholic cultists -- but it needs to be heard.

Remember Romans 10:17:

"17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

The Roman Cult needs to hear the word of Christ as often as it can.

I’ll say a prayer for you.

You gotta love it when people use prayer as a cudgel.

So were me and you if we repented of our sin and received Him by faith in our hearts

Peter’s fogiven state is meaningless when compared to the truth of what he said, THAT was the ROCK that Jesus spoke of, what peter SAID, not who Peter is.

I always appreciate those who pray for me. Just make sure you're praying to God Almighty and not some dead person like Mary or Peter, or whoever the "Saint of the Week" is.

In fact, I'll say a prayer for you -- directly to God, who saves -- and ask that if it be his will, he would open your heart and your mind to his truth.

An outstanding exegesis. It is so clear in the scriptures, so res ipsa loquitor, that I am sadly reminded of our Jewish brothers and sisters, who had eyes, but could not see and ears, but could not hear. Rather fitting that the Isaiah 8:14 stumbling STONE is called to mind.

I certainly don’t suggest that my Catholic brothers and sisters have rejected the corner stone. They have not and for that reason I can have fellowship with them and worship Christ with them. It’s just this issues of Papal authority and who the actual church and bride of Christ is.

Opinion has nothing to do with it. Opinion may be something tradition allows.. but not God's word. His word is fact. And truth. And it is a fact that Rome twists the truth to fit it's cultic agenda.

Rome teaches a false gospel. Calling it a cult is not a jab; it's an apt description. Check the definition.
