Wow, I have to laugh - not in an offensive way, but as a Catholic. We say the EXACT same things and have the exact same thoughts when our kids go the other direction....didn’t teach them the faith enough, didn’t ground them in an adult faith but only a teens faith, the other churches are just so entertaining we cant compete!

And we are both right! Do a better job, BOTH OF US! They need to know Jesus always better!

A side note - a picture is a thousand words - look at some terrific Catholic art and you will SEE the Gospel! Sure, it is not the WHOLE gospel, but so much of it as to be enlightening and of teh Holy Spirit. Or look at that classic of Jesus kneeling at Gethsemane....THERE is a whole lot of education!

“However, I am concerned about Western Civilization not about Latin Civilization.”

One comes from the other. If you’re concerned with one you have to be concerned with the other.

Jewish one is deeper than that.

People will ask questions, and the Holy Spirit will lead.

And the Holy Spirit will lead where there is no Christ?

Moehller is one to talk about being taught weak doctrine he is one of the leaders of the Emergent Church errors

Never heard of Moehller - who is he - or she? See several Moehllers in a Google search. None stand out as an emergent preacher. And what does Moehller have to do with this thread, anyway?

Al Mohler is President of the Southern Baptist Convention. Also on the Board of Focus on the Family.

Very respected man...not a flake.

I know who Al Mohler is - President of SBTS and a leader of the Calvinists in the SBC. But Mr. Bannon had referred to someone named Moehller, an emergent with whom I am not familiar. So I was asking Mr. Bannon to expound.

....And yes, in the RCC, if you as an adult desire to come into the Catholic Church, you will be asked for at least a year, to do both studying and taking classes called the RCIA. Right during Lent, there are special rituals that take place to prepare a non-Catholic for either baptism at Holy Saturday Eve before Easter, full reception into the Church,

Okay, I have a question. If an infant can be baptized and receive full reception into the Roman Catholic Church, why does an adult have to go through classes for a year to be baptized and attain the same status?

No problem. Just make sure they're creationists. The Catholic Church doesn't even want creationists as members.

I was born a Catholic, but came to Christ as an adult. I don’t hate Catholics. Most of my relatives are Catholic. Born again Christians on FR are just trying to get Catholics to open their eyes to the truth. Your eternal souls are important to us.

Because it’s easier to follow evil, rather than righteousness. “Because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

You cannot understand Christianity without understanding Judaism. Yea, the Holy Spirit is in Judaism too.

People leave churches for many reasons. I have a relative who told us that when her dad left the CoC for Southern Baptists, his family disowned him. That is another church who believes that no one outside that church will go to heaven. It is really sad that groups believe that nonsense.

You cannot understand Christianity without understanding Judaism.

Of course you can! Has every missionary had to go through Judaism with their flock prior to preaching the Gospel? Where in Judaism is the Holy Spirit today, and of Whom does He testify? If you say Christ, it is no longer Judaism.

Did Paul go through Judaism in Corinth? No he didn’t. 1 Cor 2:1-2

That could be one unsaid, but implied point. I think the article is more of ‘they became the wrong type of Christians’ from his Baptist point of view. That is why I believe that all of us who follow Jesus, should focus on what unites us and not what differences we have. Perhaps due to my Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) upbringing.
