He was mistranslated again. At least that’s what the apologists tell me. Repeatedly.

Swell. The Pope appoints a “gay friendly” San Francisco Jesuit to be bishop of San Diego. What could go wrong?/s

McElroy is famous, in part, for this article advocating Communion for abortionists:

http://americamagazine.org/node/147154

It’s all based on the lie that Denial of Communion is a “sanction.” It is NOT a sanction. It is a requirement of the moral law, sacramental law, and divine law.

Note how his arguments are all consequentialist: Denial of Communion will hurt the Democrats. Denial of Communion will make the bishops unpopular. Denial of Communion will undermine the “Seamless Garment.”

By appointing this piece of scum, Bergoglio confirms that he is pro-abortion and pro-sacrilegious Communion, and that he hates the Catholic Church.

For San Diego, Francis Looks Left

For Francis, it seems that "Left" is never very far away.

Execrable appointment. Should please the Lavender Mafia, however.

“...When the Archdiocese was instructed by the CDF to end its policy of placing children for adoption in same-sex homosexual households, Msgr. McElroy helped find the solution: San Francisco Catholic Charities would no longer supervise “direct placement” of adopted children to anyone. Instead, it would send staff members and funding to an organization - Family Builders by Adoption - that helped “lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender coouples” adopt children .(2) For the next two years, Catholic Charities provided close to $250,000 each year for two of its staff to assist with adoptions at Family Builders.

Msgr. McElroy, already known for his ‘elastic’ views on homosexual issues, thus stretched the boundaries of the CDF directive to accommodate those who want to adopt children. The website Queerty.com, a “gay blog for the queer community,” hailed the new partnership as a “brilliant answer to a needless problem.” ....
