Every humaan being that ever lived who was legitimately Baptized was baptized Catholic....it can NEVER be any other way...you too
No,..... before the Bible AND the church was the Jewish Law and the Prophets....so you're off to a wrong start to begin with. .......and before , in the beginning, Was “THE WORD”....so you missed that as well.
You've missed the mark...and the high calling which is in Christ Jesus...who said to the Jewish people..."You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'.....That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' ...John 3
Do you mean things like take and eat of this "THIS IS MY BODY" and perhaps when He said take and drink of this "THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD WHICH WILL BE SHED FOR YOU"...
or do you just dismiss those direct statements as nonsense????...Catholics don't!!
I believe Arthur is correct on this or do you believe that your denomination and ISIS worship the same god?
There were translations into English before Tyndale and translations after Tyndale. IIRC, he was a heretic, and his translation was objectionable on doctrinal grounds.
Whether or not we accept burning heretics anymore, the reason he was burned was NOT the mere fact that he translated the Scriptures.
You really need to research the COT! The salvation rules of your denomination changed dramatically during the COT and that included the bread and wine. So 500 years would be closer to right.
Jesus said repeatedly that we must eat his flesh and drink his blood in order to have eternal life.
When some of his hearers expressed outrage and horror, his response was not to explain and modify his words, showing that they had misunderstood. Instead, he repeated and intensified his words.
I have seen many bend themselves into pretzels trying to “explain” that the words “flesh” and “blood” really mean “faith.” But Jesus was perfectly capable of demanding “faith” without causing confusion by couching it in terms of eating his flesh and drinking his blood.
The invention of the printing press had NOTHING to do with it! It was all due to releasing the grip of Rome!
Catholic theology easily distinguishes between Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi, who were baptized and are therefore JURIDICALLY “Catholics,” and actual believing, practicing Catholics.
In fact, I think I have explained before that those who are baptized are JURIDICALLY Catholics, while they may be totally unbelieving, non-practicing, disgraceful apostates.
The fact that Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi and other such criminals are JURIDICALLY Catholics does not signify any APPROVAL of their criminal careers by the Catholic Church.
It’s just a baseless cheap shot at the Church. It fools only those who wish to be fooled.
Not quite. There are hundreds of millions of validly baptized people who are not members of the Catholic Church. All the grace they receive through their baptism and other means is mediated by the Catholic Church, because the Catholic Church is Jesus Christ. But baptism makes a person a Catholic only if that is desired by his parents or, in the case of adult baptism, he himself.
Jesus said, This is my flesh, but it wasn't...It was bread...
Joh_4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Did Jesus hand out living water??? Do your priests hand out living water???
And then they tell us their Church is a Christian church...They don't believe God and reject what he says in favor of their traditions and yet usurp the Christian name out of the bible they don't even believe...It's a counterfeit to the real thing...
It sure does...Millions upon millions of people who actually read and believe the scriptures can attest to that...
It may be lost on you that we know that you Catholics do not discuss nor respond to scripture that is posted to you...
There are at least two reasons for that...One is that you are instructed not to discuss scripture in public without authorization...
And the other is most if not all of you don't know enough scripture to be able to respond...
Yours is the only religion that has apologetics courses for its people...Are those courses for the purpose of defending the scriptures??? Of Course not...They are for the purpose of defending your religion FROM the scriptures...
Not here at FR you haven't...The people here at FR have shown you scripture upon scripture time and time again that shows you and anyone else why what Jesus said was NOT physically eating his flesh and drinking his blood...
Are you saying then that not all Catholics are Christians???
So the Catholic Church is the One Mediator between God and man??? So the Catholic religion is part of the Trinity???
You guys are nuttier than a fruitcake...
If “Christian” means “nice person,” then not all Catholics are “Christians.”
If “Christian” means “baptized person,” then all Catholics are Christians.
If “Christian” means “a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ,” then many Catholics are not “Christians.”
All GOOD Catholics are Christians in the sense of “believer in and follower of Jesus Christ.”
