Jesus Was Resurrected on the Day After the Sabbath

The Feast of the First Fruits, Resurrection Day, was the Day after Passover, Which is Always on the Sabbath.

The Feast of the First Fruits was One of Ancient Israel's Seven Feasts

Technically speaking, Christians are now worshipping on the Eighth Day, the First Day of the New Creation, the Day After the Sabbath.

They are Commemorating the New Order of Creation with Christ, on the Day of the Resurrection.

The “Passover” Sabbath (a high holy day as scripture says)... was not the same as the weekly 6th day Sabbath...... just sayin.

Jesus fulfilled the Law so if you plan on living a life that is to be judged by the Law rather than the grace and mercy of a loving God then I guess you care

We've had many a battle with Sabbatharians on FR in the past. I have no doubt they will be around in a few posts.

You are correct and this is one of the reasons folks like Mr. OConnell are generally confused on the issue. They just don't understand the terminology...or the chronology.

During resurrection week the High Sabbath occurred from Wednesday at sunset until Thursday at sunset.....Nisan 15.

[Exodus 12:6] And it hath become a charge to you, until the fourteenth day of this month, and the whole assembly of the company of Israel have slaughtered it between the evenings Young's Literal Translation

He was killed on the 14th as scripture denotes and placed in the tomb before the Sabbath began.... [Luke 23:54] And the day was a preparation, and sabbath was approaching. What confuses most is that he was killed on a Wednesday afternoon, the 14th... the day becoming the 15th at sunset.....but still Wednesday until midnight (modern time).

The seven High Sabbaths floated throughout.....(year to year)...not being on the same day of the week the following year....but always on the same date.

Between the evenings was about 3:00 P.M. as the Hebrews observed two evenings every day. The first was at high noon when the sun was directly (even) overhead and the second was at sunset when the sun was (even) with the horizon. This is why the literal translation says......"Between the evenings".

What frustrates me is people believe Jesus was lying when he indicated he would be in the grave for 3 days......duh, he was.

But then people can’t do the simple math from Elizabeth’s pregnancy either and see that Jesus was born during the Feast of Tabernacles.

I differ on that premise as well and would like to discuss it with you if you have the time. You seem to have a good grasp of the non traditional theme....and I have a different position (from most).....so it makes it very difficult to discuss with folks who are “died in the wool” traditionalists.

Let me know if you’re interested.....and if so...be prepared to hear another side to the chronology.
