Exactly. It can be used to refer to micro evolution (variation within a species) or macroevolution (changing from one species into a whole different species. Microevolution is an accepted fact. It is macroevolution which has little or no evidence to support it. However, many people use the term evolution to refer to both of these, and often use examples of microevolution as “proof” for macroevolution.
