Because you dont know if the child exists. Its the difference between firing a gun into the ground so that the bullet might ricochet up to hit someone and shooting someone in the back of the head. No. It would be like firing a gun in such a way that you know that if a person is standing there it will kill them.

But there might not be a person at all. How will you prove harm to a person that may not even exist and if they do exist, it is almost impossible to prove it?
In an abortion, we know the person exists because they are the target. A doctor verifies their existence before the procedure.
