Thank you for that post!
They DO know what they're doing and if/when they deny it, they're LYING!!!!!
I'm a woman and I know better.
And so do they.
You’re welcome....
And that's the way it should be.
No woman should be dressing in a way that invites other men's imaginations to run wild with her.
If women don't want to be treated as sex objects, they need to stop acting like them.
I agree with the no, it just looks trashy.
But I know one lady that does something similar to the maybe... and I admit I find it a little distracting, and yet, I am not complaining :)
I work for a large university. These things are like the uniform for these gals.
Must say a lot of these girls should not be wearing something that tight. They look like two hogs fighting in a sock.
God bless you metmom for witnessing to the truth of the matter.
Most of the “world” is heathen.
Unfortunately, most professing Christians are also completely OF the world. True believers being, of course, IN the world, but not OF the world.
AFTER my conversion, suddenly all the whoredom makes me sick, even when because I’m a man I can’t help but notice. I notice, and my reaction is then to be sickened by it. Just as I am sickened at the thought of all my past sinful life being “in” the world. It’s funny when unbelievers try to justify themselves in their whoredoms to true believers - as if true believers themselves have not done those same things and don’t know the urges and feelings !
Unbelievers simply can not overcome the urges and feelings. And as a former unbeliever - I certainly know this very well. Were it not for the grace of God in converting me, I would be unable to resist the temptations and sin that I formerly habitually engaged in and thought NOTHING was wrong with.
Romans 14:21 “It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.”
1 Corinthians 8
“11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.”
When professing Christians dress immodestly, they present a stumblingblock to other Christians - and the Bible tells us this is not only a sin against the brother, but against God as well.
Personally, I keep in mind that they are simply heaping up coals on their own head, continually offending God.
And therein is the issue.
Unbelievers can hardly be expected to behave in a morally responsible way. HOWEVER,......
True believers, especially those who were saved at an old enough age to remember the problem the flesh can present, should know better. WAY better.
mr. mm and I had a friend who was saved out of a really bad lifestyle and struggled mightily with his thought life.
One day the conversation turned to how women dressed and he said he’d have an easier time dealing with seeing a woman butt naked than women who wear even long skirts that are somewhat see through when back lit or some other suggestive way.
Women need to be far careful because they are responsible to a degree, as you say, for how they dress.
Same here only my wife is 62. We've been married since we were babies and she still turns this old man on.
So yeah, I approve of them on other women, but my daughter is NEVER ever wearing them.
What God says on something decides it. And it is God giving us choices here, and to say the only ones available to us are either to dress “attractively” - that is, immodestly, to show oneself off sexually and invite lust - or to dress in the ridiculous burkas of the false, demonic god Allah’s religion, is to say that God Himself has failed to provide us a choice that honors Him. So has God failed to give us good options, to provide for us and protect us? Of course not. God hasn’t failed. The choice that is obedient to Him that He’s provided for us is modesty, a good and moral and fulfilling one, one that is in fact, the incomparably best and Heavenly one. Modesty is His will for us, and if we take His Word for it, we will eventually find out how wonderful it is.
They can’t be “sexy” and modest.
And she has credibility. The younger generation today lives in a society where God isn’t dead, but the fear of Him appears to be under normal circumstances. It is almost impossible to exaggerate the moral confusion that this generation is being raised in.
But here, this woman is taking a step to honor God, one that might be the first or next of many more, and not only do God-haters attack her, but many of today’s Christians fail to support and defend her, and instead attack her themselves, while ignoring that it is God’s Word, not her own opinion, that she is upholding. I have sadly found that myself, that even in the Church godly choices very often find little support, if not outright attack, these days.
And some might question her initial motives, since what prompted her seems to be concerns over her husband looking at other women, but what of it? From what I see and know of myself personally, we don’t at first respond to God’s will to change us with pure motives. Instead, we’re self-seeking. The Prodigal Son went back to his father only because doing things his way had led to his misery, in that he was starving and ill-treated, and he knew he would have a better life even as his father’s servant. So here, the Lord can use her concern over her husband to get her to begin to see more of the true wisdom of His ways, and I say more because there are women who would do all sorts of other things, particularly destructive ones, besides making an effort to dress in accordance with God’s will, if their husbands admitted to looking at other women.
