I have no problem whatsoever with applying the Laws of Logic to any creature, including Mary. But God has doomed trying to know Him by mortal wisdom which would include, as you say, logic:

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. - I Cor 1:18-24

That of course does not mean we cannot observe - and indeed, must observe what we can. Following Psalms 19:1-3 I offer this (emphasis mine):

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: - Romans 1:18-20

Indeed when the debate turns on Who God IS, my interest spikes whether the correspondent is Christian, Jewish, Mormon, Atheist or whatever. The last few chapters of Job flood to mind, which begins with this:

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. - Job 38:1-3

And ends with this:

Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. - Job 42:1-6

Words without knowledge ... we must all avoid them.

As a Christian, I should have known better. Anything that I find in someone else, God will find in me:

As to the credentials concerning logic, I would hasten to acknowledge that Philosophy is the elder brother of all knowledge disciples. For instance, Isaac Newton's great work was entitled Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica.

At any rate, logic likewise is rooted in philosophy though it is become the very life-blood of knowledge disciplines that capture my interest, i.e. Math including Information Theory with a bent toward Platonism in Mathematics, Physics and in particular Geometric Physics, i.e. Relativity. Logic remains formalized there, but differently.

Any hoot, for many years in debate with scientists and mathematicians here on Free Republic, correspondents would demand to know the credentials of others as if the validity of a statement is determined by whether he graduated from an Ivy League or State University. That too is a Logical Fallacy, i.e. that a person is 16 years old does not invalidate what he has said.

If you knew the history of the Catholic Church, you WOULD know why Peter finally went to Rome. Obviously, you haven't a CLUE. Why would you know?

Peter and the apostles were sent to the Jews and the other Israelites, Paul was sent to the gentiles. Paul mentions a lot of people in Rome, never mentions Peter. Peter was where he said he was, in Babylon, because there were significant numbers of Jews there from the captivity, and two Jewish academies. Peter's ossuary was found in Jerusalem, along with ossuaries from other notables that walked with Jesus, and confirmed by renowned Catholic archaeologist Milik.

Oh, no doubt most big protestant churches have as many problems as the Catholic church. I think there are small churches here and there speckled in the countryside from sea to shining sea that Jesus would approve of, as He approved just two of the seven in Revelation. Just which subset of His Word do you personally accept, the subset commonly accepted by those who are "led by the spirit" to agree that the Holy Spirit was incapable of protecting His Word from error and therefore accept only the anti-Christ, anti-Christian, Pharisee Approved subset of Scripture, or some other set of Scripture? Like, oh, the set that includes new things written by Joseph Smith or Ellen G White?

Deny the Holy Spirit is perfect, insist the Holy Spirit was incapable of doing what Christ promised the Holy Spirit would do, then lay claim to what that isn't shaped to your personal tastes from the start ? Some other Holy Spirit? A new, improved, 1517 model, Holy Spirit that knows how to stay out of your way and do your bidding? The Hatian Holy Spirit that rides you at your special fireside ceremonies? You're led by the same Holy Spirit you insist is imperfect so, . . . that leads to perfection and keeps you on the right path to what other than whatever the Self finds convienent and pleasing?

It's really, really, funny how people who throw out a large portion of the Bible before they even start to study it, claim that what Christ Himself said isn't what Christ really said, insist that the Holy Spirit cannot and did not protect Scripture from the inclusion of error, and rely on something like Strong's rather than what was written by people who were taught by the Apostles, claim someone else is, "on another planet".

The same Pharisees (i.e. Rabinnical Jews) consider the Apostles and several of the Gospels antisemetic so I guess the same folks will get around to throwing those out the same way Luther wanted to thrown out James, Hebrews, Jude, and Revelation.

Okay, as an example do you really think God wants Passover to be called "Easter"? Easter is Ishtar who was a sex goddess.

My KJV has those books. God is in charge and he refined His Word seven times. The Catholic Bible came through Alexandria Egypt in large part from what I understand. I don't think God wanted those in Egypt writing his Word.

It's the individualism this country was founded on. Each individual has access to the Holy Spirit if they choose. The Holy spirit will help guide each individual through their study as they work to become more acceptable to God. One of the reasons to found this nation was not to become subject to a papacy and all the evils it committed over the centuries.
