No purgatory....your sins are covered and will not be taken into account. Next question please?

I think I'm beginning to understand protestantism and I may convert. I don't have to atone for my sins, no matter what I do my sins are covered, repentance and penance are pretty much passe', nothing I do will be taken into account, we all die and go directly to Heaven. Man, that's easier than Catholics have it...we are expected to behave, refrain from sin, seek repentance when we fall short, attend Mass, confess our sins,WOW, you guys sure have it easy.........

Christians do ask for forgiveness of sins....we just go straight to Christ.

1 John 1:9 5This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 7but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

1My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

The greek word for propitiation is Παράκλητον, parakleton. It is the same word used to describe the Holy Spirit also. It is a legal term meaning someone who stands close beside, a legal advocate who makes the right judgment call.

In other words, Jesus is our attorney! You're not going to lose a case with Him on your side.

Romans 4 notes your sins are covered as do many other verses in the NT. I would recommend Ephesians as a good starting place to read.

Penance...nope. No works we can do atone for our sins.

Your works will be tested....only the good ones stay...the rest are trashed. Your salvation is secure though.

Your salvation is secure. John 3:16....whosoever believes in Him should not perish but will have eternal life.

Christians attend church on a weekly, if not more frequent basis. We engage in Bible studies in groups and we actually read the Bible on our own. It's not too complicated of a book. The Greek makes it more fun though!

Jesus makes this invitation to all in Matthew 11: 28-30

28“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

We (and you) have it easy because Jesus paid a price for us on Calvary that you cannot imagine.

Your/my good deeds are filthy rags in the eyes of God (Isaiah 64:6).

Purgatory insults the price that our Lord paid for your Salvation.

Would I suffer a thousand years for my Lord if He ask me too. Of course...but it wouldn't be suffering because I have His love in my heart.

It would be a pleasure to suffer for my beloved.

You have been lied to. But not because those who lied knew they were lying.

Satan twists the hearts of men and they don't even know it.

Religion built by men is false by nature. That's the way we do things.

Jesus on the other hand...

Go ahead.

Mock God’s grace.

It won’t end well with you then.
