You have to follow the ACLUs involvement in this stuff. In order to avoid one of their lawsuits, cities have to permit any organized belief that requests an opportunity to give the invocation to do so. On the flip side, if you put together a list of local religious groups, invite them all, and the only people who choose to participate are Christians, youll also get sued if too high a percentage of them mention Christ. I think you nailed it. This is a City Council trying desperately to avoid a lawsuit. This idiot basically gave a one-size-fits-all invocation that alluded to pretty much all belief systems.

Could be, but unfortunately for them God doesn’t accept money to get into heaven, but their idolized god Satan has no problem, to bad for them that there are no refunds allowed when they realized just how much of sucker they really are.

'Lake' Worth eh?
Revelation 20:9-10:
"...And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

I realize that, but he called himself an atheist when clearly he isn’t. Even all of those other gods are false gods, he still evidently believes in some gods or why would he pray to them?

That want an invocation, it was mocking religion.
It is mocking faith in Jesus Christ at least, but is it mocking religion or is it the defining religion?
