This may come as a surprise to some Luke chapter 1 is all about Jesus Christ as our promised Messiah.
Poor ol' frustrated Joseph.
I wonder why he stuck with her all those years.
Mary was NOT a very good Christian for FAILING to be a COMPLETE wife to him.
Sorry, but your attempt to switch the subject so rapidly has been noted.
Still is; but Scripture does NOT record the things Catholicism says about her.
It DOES, however, record THIS about her cousin Elizabeth:
Luke Chapter 1 (various)
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Elisabeth and Zacharias were both righteous, AND filled with the Holy Ghost: This was NOT recorded about Mary.
Mary was blessed because of BELIEF; not Obedience.
Catholic Answers:
Yup; with Catholic spin.
They have invested their SOULS into that doctrine.
They'd BETTER 'believe' it!
There are approximately 1.2 billion Catholics world wide;
If merely 1% of them 'ask' Mary for help just once each day;
that means that 12 million separate prayers are headed Mary's direction every day.
Given that there are 86,400 seconds per day... (24 hours times 60 minutes times 60 seconds)
...that means that Mary has to handle approximately 139 'requests' per second!
Purty good fer someone NOT 'divine'!
Maybe so; but neither Mary or Joseph were part of those weirdos.
The Book PLAINLY states (you guys compiled it)
1 Corinthians 7:5
Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you.
'Everyone' believed that ANYWAY!!!
You'll need a LOT more straw!
Even after the resurrection of Christ people STILL did not believe he was the Messiah...
To most people a virgin birth story was a tale told to cover up (supposedly) Mary sin of fornication...
My point is the virgin birth did not have a lot to do with the reason people believed that Jesus was the Christ the coming Messiah, the resurrection was...
BTW, why is the risen Christ still hanging on the Catholic cross...?

Matthew 13:55 Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
The Greek word for "full" is πλήρης (plérés) and is not used in regard to Mary. The word plérés is used 16 times in the New Testament and not once in regard to Mary regarding grace or anything else. It is used regarding grace to describe Stephen.
Acts 6:8 Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.
It is also used to say that Stephen was full of faith and the Holy Spirit.
Acts 6:5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit;
Not once did the Holy Spirit inspire the word plérés to describe Mary as full of anything but did use it in describing others as full of grace, the Holy Spirit, and faith. Only two were described as full of grace and they were Jesus and Stephen.
It is totally a made up lie from the Catholic Church that Mary was considered full of grace.
It's Catholics who don't care what the apostles thought or taught. As a matter of fact, Paul said that anyone who taught something they didn't as far as the gospel was concerned should be considered accursed. But Catholics cannot show where the apostles taught the assumption of Mary yet it's part of their gospel and claim that Catholics must believe it.
LOL The Catholic Church says the Muslims worship the same god Catholics do so that comment is ........well......interesting.
Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
There really is not much written early (first century) Church history outside the New Testament. There is a work by F.F. Bruce that does discuss extra biblical historical documents , “Jesus and Christian Origins Outside the New Testament” (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1974). A good book.
For other early writings consider the Patristic Fathers, Clement,Justin Martyr, Eusebius, etc.
I would note that there were a number of protestant reformers like Luther, Calvin, and Wesley who considered Mary to be Perpetual Virgin. But that issue looks back to this divisive looking thread....

(NYer writes; “Pinging the troops ... both camps! I’ll put on the first pot of coffee.”)
When was the last time you had your sins forgiven by an Apostolic successor?
When was the last time you received the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ?
Both of the above are Gospel.
