Well, he is already wrong. The Catholics didn't ADD any books, the Protestants removed them.

That's why he can't find biblical teachings - he doesn't have the whole Bible.

Heck, the Catholic church has been sending people to hell and claims it has the power to do so for centuries.

Why should it bother Catholics that someone else express the same opinion to them?

Billy Graham is absolutely despised by millions of evangelicals because he always had a good relationship with Catholics, and especially the popes.

It's the Bob Jones crowd that has had a problem with Billy's ministry (too soft). I wouldn't say it's the entire evangelical part of Christ's Body that has spoken against him. (Billy is an evangelist, ya know.)

And Billy isn't the only one who has had a good relationship with Catholics. I also have had good relationships with the two or maybe three Catholic girls I ever knew. But if they grew up to be like one or two of the RC banshees on the FR RF...whew!...I dodged those bullets.

I was raised in a very rigid, hardline, hellfire fundamentalist church, and Billy Graham was held in extremely high esteem. I didn’t understand it, since he taught things we didn’t believe, but that’s the way it was.

I wonder what some of those points might be. Do you remember any? I don't remember his ever preaching anything other than the (Pauline) Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ, striving to adhere to the Holy Bible.

I will tell you the big one. I won’t argue about it, though. I am no longer a member of that particular denomination, plus I just don’t like to argue doctrine.

But in a nutshell, the church I was raised in taught that you couldn’t be saved without baptism/immersion. Going forward for an altar call and praying the sinner’s prayer was just a manmade substitute for God’s plan.

So why Billy Graham was so profoundly respected among the members of that denomination...I still don’t know. But he was. Some things/people supersede even the most rigidly held doctrines, one must suppose.

Do you have proof of this? All Protestants I know love Billy Graham. He has led more people to Christ than any person I know about. I think some people toss things out there hoping some of it sticks.

I think this is a very positive sign of goodwill and Christian brotherhood. I hope something productive comes of it in terms of reaching people with a positive message about traditional Christian morality.

Brothers, debating the accusers of the brethren is pointless, they will always find some leader, some doctrine, some denomination to slander. The accusers are of their father satan, they have not the mind of Christ or the love of God. They are wolves intent on tearing apart the flock of Jesus. They use the name of Jesus without belonging to Him, they are deceived and their end will be terrible.

You can always spot them they love arguing, causing divisions, and judging others. They are nothing like Jesus and twist His words to suit their hatred of those in Christ. They mock those who love like Jesus, their hearts are full of hate and see nothing to repent of like the pharisees they behave like.

For many, it probably amounted to that. Also, for some who had been born again, it was a time of re-dedicating their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and to doing the will of God.

For some who went to the front at the BGEA Crusade, it was a ring-a-ding homerun born-again experience in the Spirit and they never would be the same as before that day or night. Just ask them.

All depends on who was called and who answered and who continued to follow the Lord Jesus Christ from then on.
