I heard it and think that by considering Prager’s responses and the subsequent comments by a rabbi caller, Hewitt has reason to reconsider his position.
HH is a Republican. He is useless.
Hewitt is a well-trained, deeply experienced lawyer. A skillful lawyer can take either side of an argument, without your being able to detect what he really believes.
Yes, I just heard it too and had much the same reaction.
“Prager pointed out that, the Islamist thinks doing evil brings the afterlife reward”
That’s because they worship satan. I’m convinced satan is in the islamic heart, even the leftist heart. That explains leftists hatred for Christians and their support of islam.
Odd. I don’t listen much anymore, but he’s always claimed to be an evangelical.
If you WERE the kind of person who didn’t believe in the afterlife why would you want to work so hard to convince people of that?
You would WANT the general populace to believe in living a good life and not doing things like - oh, i dont know - steal your stuff and murder you.
Because if there is no God, and no afterlife, then why not?
God meets each person, and reveals Himself, giving an opportunity to repent, etc.
Sometimes He uses the fear of Hell, or reward of Heaven to awaken the person. (PS even a donkey can talk.) There are other factors God uses, too.
Meanwhile, I don’t think my belief in the existance of Heaven or Hell is necessary for my salvation. But with maturing, I will believe it (it’s in the Bible).
A moral person will still act moral?
God through Jesus WILL change a person. The good works will become an internal part of the person, not just good habits or lifestyle.
“...hes always claimed to be an evangelical.”
Indeed! I have some dear Christian friends (very conservative and quite evangelical) who have been influenced by Hugh. I have warned them about him over the years. I think they would be shocked by this revelation. I fear my friends are like far too many conservatives. They aren’t stupid, just too trusting and not politically astute.
Interesting responses, all.
Hawthorn, I know what you mean, but he didn’t give any indication he was playing Devil’s Advocate.
I don’t think muslims think they are doing evil. That is the problem.
To me this just proves that lawyers are all trained to become "devils advocates," and even the Devil's advocate!!!
It sounds exactly like (Satan addressing Eve): "You shall not surely die!"
I'm shocked by this because even though I realize HH is an establishment (R), he has done much good legal work in defeating GANG-GREEN, (the new embodiment of Commonism in America) in the courtrooms of CA where it is most needed.
One must always remember that what's legal is not always moral, honest or the least bit reasonable or proper.
That’s right. They think they are doing God’s will and will be rewarded for their murders.
Yes, like you I heard most of this by switching to DP during one of RL’s “obscene profit breaks.”
It was bizarre, wasn’t it?
I really thought it was a liberal atheist caller before I figured out it was Hewitt.
Hugh Hewitt also wanted Willard who is another anti-Christian to be president...
Former Catholics who lost faith
Too common
And sad
HH is useless. Did both of his listeners agree to this? He’s a joke.
Following that confrontation by Nathan, David was devastated by his evil...but it had happened nonetheless. So, men who are rescued may still behave wickedly...and despise it (Rom. 7).
He still is stumping for Willard.
He thinks he should be the 2016 nominee.
