I think people here are being manipulated about Pope Francis.

If by "here" you mean this FR religion forum, and if by "manipulated" you mean to not accept the RCC slant on every news item regarding this particular church leader, then we agree.

Not being Roman Catholic, some posters here are freer than others to observe and comment on the news without having been indoctrinated how to always think like a Roman Catholic ought to think.

Missing from your post is any indication that you realize that I do not recognize this man as the main leader of Christians on Earth. But I do realize he is at the head of the RC church headquartered in Italy.

The Lord Jesus Christ alone is the Head of His own Church and I am one member of His Body.

No, I mean the “slant” which ignores the conservative things this pope says and does because it doesn’t fit a caricature of him. An example of this is the ignoring of his condemnations of gay marriage which have been every bit as forceful as Benedict’s. The majority of this pope’s statements are very conservative but they are swept under the rug by many here because they destroy the slanted caricature of him.
