I have never heard a pastor tell the people, that once they make the alter call that they will then need to turn themselves over to the police, for abusing their child, robbing the bank, or murdering a person. Hmmmm...I wonder why pastors do not add that information before the alter call?
And how many priests tell the person confessing to them to do the same thing instead of just giving them a few Our Father's and Hail Mary's and maybe a trip around the rosary beads?
There's another thread about the *seal of the confessional*, that makes your expectation about how *Protestants* do things hypocritical.
Agreed.
Granted I wear bifocals. However, looking at my post, no where did I write, “see, others do it too”. I will gladly give you the name of my very good eye doctor. I know it is a bear, when I cannot read correctly.
As for “assuming” that my post was implying “Well then!! That makes it all better right?”. Not even “Carnac the Magnificent” would ascertain that false conclusion.
Now, the reason for my post was to see if those who have “righteous anger”, also had at the minimum, the intellectual honest to condemn the actions of any adult, who destroys a child’s life. No matter if the abuser is a Catholic priest or a Protestant pastor. Wouldn’t you agree?

In case that you did not have time to read one of the links to a short article, in my original post. I agree with Boz Tchividjian , a Liberty University law professor, who stated,
The Protestant culture is defined by independence, Tchividjian said. Evangelicals often frown upon transparency and accountability, he said, as many Protestants rely on Scripture more than religious leaders, compared to Catholics.
Abusers discourage whistle-blowing by condemning gossip to try to keep people from reporting abuse, he said. Victims are also told to protect the reputation of Jesus.
Too many Protestant institutions have sacrificed souls in order to protect their institutions, he said. Weve got the Gospels backwards, he said.

Based on what Boz Tchividjian stated in the above article, I do agree with at least two of your statements. I can now say about any Protestant pastor, or Board of Elders that take no action to protect the victim, and who do not report the abuse. They need to burn in hell for that. What they did was no more than guard the door while the abuse was going on within the room. and They are just as complicit in the crimes as if they had done it themselves.
Hypocrite (noun)
1. A person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. A person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
Such a strong statement about my character. Amazing that you came up with that word (hypocritical), and we have never have met before.
I will now reveal my experiences with a very holy Franciscan priest, Fr. Juan. When I was twelve, I stole a board game from the Newberrys store in my town. When I confessed my sin, besides the Our Fathers and Hail Marys, I was also instructed by Fr. Juan to speak to the store manager about what I had done. I did as I was instructed, and the store manger had me work 6 hours in his store to repay the debt, by cleaning and taking out the trash, a total of 3 days. One of my aunts saw me in the store working, and told my mother. I then had to confess to my mother on why I was working at the store. I then had the additional punishment from my parents.
When I was 17, I confessed my sin of fornication with my girlfriend. I was instructed by Fr Juan to ask forgiveness from my girlfriend for leading her in to sin. I did ask my girlfriend for forgiveness, and she did forgive me.
I know that if I had robbed a bank or murder a person, Fr. Juan would have instructed me to go to the police. Fr. Juan is one of many holy priests that I have known in my life. Men who followed Jesus each moment of their lives, in words and action.
Well, there's a crock if I ever heard one.(bolded part) Christians do rely more on Scripture than man however.
Having a top down world wide hierarchy is no guarantee of transparency or accountability.
On the contrary, it's easier to slip through the cracks.
And if someone is aware of a crime being perpetrated and does nothing to stop it, they are guilty in a court of law. (Pinging our resident lawyer)

Absolutely. Have at it.
Let me know and I'll join you.
