Who has ever made such an absurd claim? The first, of course, was Martin Luther who introduced his novel ideas 1500 years after the founding of Christianity. I would rather stay with the faith as it was founded by Jesus Christ and preserved by his church.

That leaves being a Catholic out. Jesus surely didn't found a church that includes paganism.
