I dug into the author's background. I don't see anything that makes him an expert on the Church. He generally writes about classical music.

Pray for Pope Francis, evil has gone from lurking to attacking.

People who mocked those who had issues with previous popes now have trouble with what this one says.

It turns out that most people want to hear what they want to hear, and nothing else.

Fair-weather faith is no faith at all.

Pray for the conversion of hearts and minds.

I think evil has been attacking for a while. It has gotten worse recently though.

Reporters attacking Catholics don’t even pretend to be honest or accurate anymore.

Damian Thompson is a very well-informed Catholic, whose commentary on Catholic matters is insightful.

Why is the fact that he writes about classical music somehow a negative?
