JOEL OSTEEN: "OBAMA IS A CHRISTIAN, DOING A GOOD JOB"

Is this man on drugs or something...

Charismatic mega Church prosperity teacher Joel Osteen brands the US President as «A good Christian, who is doing a good job in a difficult time.

Joel Osteen and his wife

These questions came to mind while watching Joel Osteen and his lovely wife, Victoria, on CNN’s “Larry King Live” last week. King pointed out that many Americans are still confused about Obama’s religion and asked, «Does it matter?»

«Well, it matters to me,« said Osteen. «It matters to me that I know he loves the Lord, and I think it’s important that he has convictions from his faith. So to me, it matters when I’m making my personal decisions».

Mrs. Osteen weighed in, too: «It does. It matters to me. … I believe he is a Christian».

I think old ‘lukewarm’ Joel needs to take some time off from fleecing the flock and get to know the real Lord and his teachings before it’s too late. (There I go judging the fruits again)

Remember in the gospel it says: ‘... On judgement day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ ... Matthew 7:22

He’s not exactly a Billy Graham calibre preacher I would say. But more in the vein of Reverend Ike. (google him or ask an old fart, kiddies) Anyway, he may get off on a technicality, since he has yet to prophesy, cast out any demons, or perform any miracles in the Lord’s name as far as I can tell.

Even the mayor of Houston, doesn’t care enough to subpoena his sermons. Nope, nothing controversial here, move along...and don’t forget to send the check, the Lord wants to bless you.

Obama’s a “Christian?” By what standard is Joel viewing this? I’m highly curious as to what is exactly “Christian” about Obama.. the support for homosexual “marriage?” Support for unlimited abortion on demand? How about his propensity to lie to Americans about essentially everything?

Took the words right out of my mouth.

You forgot to include in your list his acceptance of the Koran as divine revelation.

Maybe I’ll post some teachings of the Reverend Jim Jones or the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, or maybe even the High priest of the Church of Satan Anton LaVey, with the same disclaimer.

Just want to suggest researching Billy Graham’s reaction to Bubba Clinton’s getting BJs in the Oval Office....interesting.

And plenty of evidence that he was raised a Moooslim in Indonesia and went to a madras for his education.....facts that cannot be denied.

That sounds entirely appropriate.

That's quite a titillating suggestion. But, that's history I've no interest in recalling, and I'm not a disciple of Billy Graham. Although I've shaken hands with worse people.

What's 'Christian' about Obama is that Obama is wealthy and can help Osteen become more wealthy too.

Y'see.

Actually that is not as clear cut as may would say. For we also read:

11 or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 13God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.” (1 Cor 5)

TAGLINE: ...a Soviet Pravda.

If the run-of-the-mill MSM is Pravda, are Fox News and Drudge the current Izvestia?

We could ask the Christians of Northern Iraq if they agree that Obama is a Christian and doing a good job, but there are no more Christians there after just under 2,000 years in the region. We could ask the Christians of Egypt, but most Copts and many other Christians there have gone underground to avoid Obama’s beloved Arab Spring. I could go on regarding international persecution, but globally this is the worst time to be a Christian since Obama’s inspiration, Nero, died.

We could ask Christians in America, such as the Christian churches in California, which are (according to the State of California) going to be compelled to pay for abortion, involuntarily funding that evil act even if they object to murdering babies. We could ask the Catholic schools and hospitals being victimized by Obamacare’s abortion mandate. We could ask individual Christians, including prominent ones such as the owners of Hobby Lobby, and less noticeable individuals who are being charged extra for abortion coverage that they do not want and will never use.

Any honest Christian would have to admit that in the unlikely event that Obama is a Christian, or even likes/respects Christians, he is doing a terrible job. It is only if Obama is an evil, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, communist thug, that Obama is doing an excellent job.

My opinion: Obama is doing an excellent job.

Thanks! More food for thought.

There are so many cautions and commandments regarding judging, plus my fear that my own gets turned back on me in the end (and I've done more than enough to fear and worry about already without adding more), has me cautious.

I'm in the non-denominational, "Lo Info Christian" category and I definitely do not have enough info to take any more chances with that one, which is why I sent my self the reminder.

I just don't see things clearly enough to know what I'm stepping into, so I'm watching the rest who seem to, while trying to remember to pray for all and keep my own mouth shut.

To: who knows what evil?

Indeed he does!

The Laodicean Church is alive and well in these end times and 2 Timothy 4:3 rings true today now more than ever.

Correction, to my posting, why don’t you ask the poster yourself?

I'm not asking for him to stop. Freepers have already tried that. I am asking the mods to ZOT him because he doesn't share our values.

Sorry to interrupt all the righteous heresy hunting around here, but what is the actual source for these quotes, and better yet, the context? I followed links back to a summary blog post from 2009 with a questionable agenda, and another to a general URL for Worldnet, where I find nothing. If this happened as reported, there would be video. BTW - Why is this even news now, 5 years after it allegedly happened?

I am not defending Osteen, but I have seen this type of cut and paste smear tactics used against a lot of ministers and ministries in my life, and based on the shoddy journalism of the linked blog, I am suspicious.

Now back to the religious lynch mob, pitchforks to the right, torches to the left.
