Maybe it is a coincidence, but 666 in Roman numerals is DCLXVI

Hardly a coincidence I should say, as DCLXVI was also the Roman abbreviation for the Department of Motor Chariots.

Relax, I am not offended by your statement. But, my question is, if this study of Biblical numerology had some profound merit, would you truly want to find out more?

I wrote what I wrote because of information.
If I wanted to offend you, I would have in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS. I am not known for subtlety. Why would you even think I would write it to offend?

OH! I forgot! You ARE the conspirator person who sees conspiracy in many places!
Lol.

I don't think that the Biblical numerology had ANY merit, let alone profound authority, unless it's PROFOUND NONSENSE.
WE puny humans made up the numbers. The huge civilizations of the past also made up numbers. No big deal. Putting an "evil" to ONE specific number is just superstitious mumbo-jumbo made up by the same people who

70. Warm hands, cold heart; cold hands, warm heart
It is unlucky to rock an empty rocking chair
To kill an albatross is to cause bad luck to the ship and all upon it
Smell dandelions, wet the bed
To give someone a purse or wallet without money in it will bring that person bad luck
A forked branch, held with a fork in each hand, will dip and point when it passes over water

==================================

I'm sure that every culture has DOZENS more bad/good luck stupiduperstitions that we could post. I imagine that there are some REALLY, REALLY, REALLY dumb ones, knowing the gamut of human foolishness.

Time to exit. Have a great weekend.

Maybe the Greek Roman Latin Jesus is the ‘in place of ‘ Christ or the ‘ instead of’ Christ, or the ‘antichristos’ for the Greek fans..

That would certainly be a deception the whole world wouldnt see coming..

But one would have to see the greco roman latin Jesus as a counterfeit for the Hebrew jesus/Joshua before they could even contemplate that..

It is hard to tell the difference because their words and deeds are identical, but holy days like December 25, good Friya day and easter Sun’s day are three days that go aways in telling which is real and which is counterfeit..

If scripture didn’t tell us there is a satanic trinity, we would be safe to assume the greco roman latin church is truth..they claim to be the true church...

But those holy days don’t square with scripture..

More like sola popa and not sola scriptura...

Maybe too many are waiting and not proving all things...

The enemy is playing for keeps..

I believe it represents Nero AND the coming anti-Christ. Certain patterns seem to me to repeat in the Bible, especially with respect to big events and the rise and (self-inflicted by turning from God) of nations.

The most over-analyzed number in history. It is what it is, the number of man.

Rev. 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

Beyond that, it’s all speculation. Speculation: that which is pulled from human fannies. I’m thinking ol’ Hank Kissinger can be taken off the usual suspects list.

Well said. Look for Him.

I’m not even sure about the rapture. Some argue that’s wrong and we will be tested by the tribulation, too. (Not picking a fight or a side on that score, just saying I don’t know.)

All that aside, Christ is my Lord and Savior, the only being in existence (well, besides the other two parts of the Trinity) whom I will ever bow down to. OK, Mary, too, if the opportunity arises in person. And I happily how down to Him/Them.

I try to learn, but I figure that the details will work out as He plans regardless of if I figure them out correctly beforehand.

“OK, what is the wisdom behind the Roman numbers?”

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

From my first post here:

“I don’t know how that specifically relates to anything prophetical, but to me it is interesting how that works out, that it’s exactly one each of the first six numerals.”

The farthest I’m willing to go with this is that somehow John is connecting the Roman numeral system with The Beast. Maybe that means The Beast is somehow connected with systematic data tracking, consistent with the Mark of The Beast. But that is mere speculation on my part.

Understood, but when Christ spoke to John, would He speak in Greek or Hebrew? Both were Hebrew. Why wouldn’t He speak Hebrew to John?

The Holy Scriptures are "God-breathed," written in the languages of the writer, inspired by the Holy Ghost.

Moses wrote Torah in Hebrew, as was all the rest of Tanach save Daniel Chapters 2 to 7, which (written to/about Gentiles) was in Aramaic.

What we call "The Old Testament" was written to, and for, the People chosen by God as His Own.

When Jesus fulfilled the Law, and ordained the Gospel of salvation and reconciliation be proclaimed as a herald to the Jews and Gentiles alike, The Holy Ghost caused the Scriptures to be written in the common (Koine) language of the day, a very precise tongue making His meanings clear to the Gentiles.

The very first writings of the Gospel of Matthew (Levi) are supposed to have been written in Hebrew or Aramaic, appropriately because that Gospel was directed toward the Jews and their culture. But that Gospel was not preserved, not canonical. As written (or rewritten) by Levi, it was cast in the Koine by inspiration of the Holy Ghost, and preserved for us today.

Whatever language John's thoughts may have been formed in, he chose and wrote the words as ordained by God in Greek, and that is without question the language that John wrote his works in, and John's writings were directed to everyone who spoke and read the common Greek then used for everyday communication.

The Holy Ghost would not have spoken to John in Hebrew, expecting fallible John to translate and interpret the Hebrew into Greek. No, God spoke to and formed John's thoughts in Greek, that we might have His Thoughts directly given in the beauty of the rich, descriptive terms of the language, with its grammatical precision, that we might know exactly what God wanted us to understand.

The information which may come out of the numerals representing a number of six hundred, sixty, and six were transmitted in Greek so that anyone with basic intelligence could figure out what God/John wrote without getting him sent to jail on the basis of openly demeaning the Roman leaders by name.

It was not written as some kind of mysterious abracadabra numerological idiocy that required knowledge of Hebrew and Jewish culture to even reconstruct some kind of hidden meaning.

I don't think your approach in this article makes any sense at all.

The Tower of Babel concept is very real. We have the ability to raise above language and communicate just by thought or consciousness. When we do, we experience Jesus and realize that He is already here. The profound Love you experience when doing this is beyond words. It’s the treasure He referred to a being buried in the field.

This is why in Acts the people each heard Peter in their own language when filled with the Holy Spirit. It raised them above the level of language.

The key to doing this is “Loving God.” As in doing so it raises you up and your perception of reality changes. It’s not just theory. It’s available to everyone. It’s reality.

Heaven is already here, we just need to tune into it. It’s a bit early to go public but the time will be soon. First is the great emptying so that people are not full of themselves. Then they can perceive Heaven on Earth.

I will send a Loving prayer with this post. It is available to all. Some can close their eyes and feel it immediately after reading this message.

Dear duhe,

The problem with speculating too much about the prophecy in the the Book of the Revelation, is that there is a warning at the end. So it is best to focus on keeping you name in the Book of Life and not having to experience the plagues written in the book of Revelation.

Revelation Chapter 22 18iFor I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: †If anyone adds to these things, jGod will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, †Godk shall take away his part from the lBook of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Nelson, Thomas (2009-02-18). Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV) (p. 1202). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition.

It is interesting that neither Hebrew nor Greek have separate numbers, so all of the words have numerical value. The study of these values is called Gematria. One of the more interesting books I have read on this is Coincidences in the Bible and in Biblical Hebrew by Haim Shore (2012-12-11). Another really interesting book is Torah, Chazal & Science by Rabbi Moshe Meiselman which gives many examples of how the Jewish Sages were able to answer scientific questions by studying the Torah. If you are really interested in understanding the hidden meaning in Genesis Chapter 1, then read Sefer Yetzirah: The Book of Creation in Theory and Practice, by Aryeh Kaplan.
