I have heard the words of my Holy Father and taken them to heart. I sincerely want to be that kind of priest. However, I can only do this if the timeless truths of the Catholic faith are firmly defined and defended. The dogmas, doctrines and disciplines of the Catholic faith are the tools of my trade.

"Firmly defended" is one thing, but it's quite an admission to hear a priest claim that his "Catholic dogmas, doctrines, and disciplines" have not been "firmly defined". Is this one of those Nancy Pelosi moments where it has to be voted on to find out what's in it?

“I can only do this if the timeless truths of the Catholic faith are firmly defined and defended”.

He is slamming the Pope here. The Pope needs to FIRMLY DEFINE AND DEFEND timeless truth every time he opens his mouth and Francis only causes confusion. He acts more protestant than Catholic and acts like he’s at war with his own faith. He would get along fine with some Catholic bashers on FR.

He’s talking about the Pope’s failure to firmly defend and define -to the world - Catholic doctrine...which by definition, is already defined as doctrine. But you knew that anyway.
