Being a “man without a country” was once considered a fate tantamount to damnation, but many conservatives are now simply unmooring themselves from their country. It’s not my path, but it’s a rational response.

To paraphrase The Gipper: I didn't leave America; America left me. I can't bring myself to actually give up on this country, but we are surely headed the wrong way on so many different issues. Republicans for the most part don't seem to give a durn for anything but reaching out to the people who are destroying us. And then to add insult to injury every-time they lose, the conservatives take the blame. People will only put up with that for so long.
